Located in the DOC Vinho Verde, Rolan is specialized since its origins in the production of wines of the Albariño variety.

Adega Rolan has an approximate surface of 30 hectares of vineyards located in the Vale do Rio Minho. Planted in a soil characterized by its granite composition, the vines give the wines a certain touch of minerality that makes them unique.

At Adega Rolan we opted for the exclusive production of white wines and the varieties found in our vineyards are Alvarinho (more than 90%), Trajadura, Loureiro and Cainho white.

Varieties

White grape varieties predominate in the vineyards of Adega Rolan, especially Alvarinho and Loureiro.

Alvarinho is the queen variety par excellence in our vineyards, as it gives the wines a good structure in the mouth and presents tropical aromas

Trajadura and Loureiro are two varieties with which we make our “blend” wine, giving it a very striking body and aroma that differentiate it from monovarietal wines. Loureiro is very exuberant in terms of aroma and resembles laurel.

Cainho Branco is an autochthonous variety that is about to disappear in Northern Portugal. Its productivity is very low and its maturation is late, but on the other hand it has a strong personality: notes of white flowers, fruity and herbaceous. In the mouth it is fresh and well structured. We chose to rediscover this variety and we are now able to harvest the first crops.
